Many people believe that SEO, or search engine optimization is a waste of time and money. Others, however, spend huge amounts of money just to have SEO consultants analyze and tweak their websites for optimal performance.
The reality is that search engines need to be able to “read” or analyze the information on your Malaysia website. Then it has to match what it finds to whatever people are searching for. Lastly, with a multitude of web pages displaying information on the same topic, it has to be decided which result is first and which is last. Who knew it was such a process right?
But it has to be measured – and SEO Malaysia is the process of making sure that your website looks good (to the search engines) when “measured” or should we say evaluated.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind When It Comes to Search Engine Optimization
There are millions of Malaysia websites out there. It is not possible to create a new website, and have it attract a huge amount of traffic overnight. It will be competing with established websites, and it may take some time and effort to get a decent amount of visitors.
Consider this- if you were looking for a solution that your business offers, what would you type into Google to try and find it? For instance – if you need legal advice, and you are in Atlanta, you would type “legal advice Atlanta”, or “legal counsel Atlanta”, or “lawyer Atlanta”.
If possible, try to include different phrases that people would try to find you. Remember – people can use their common sense, but Google has to be spoon fed.
Give the Search Engines Food
It is of no use to create a 3-page website with very little text, and expect miracles to come of it. Search engines order their results by a combination of relevance and quality. If your home page contains a number of keywords about what you do, but little else, it proves relevance, but fails the quality test. Write a bit more – and open up more possibilities to have people find your website.
SEO is a waiting game. Yes, some results get indexed very soon. Unfortunately, it only happens to results from powerful websites – like Youtube, Twitter, etc. Malaysia Websites just starting out are usually not indexed immediately, and are shuffled up and down in the results for a while – it is known as the “Google dance”. Since there are a HUGE number of websites on the Internet, the smaller and newer websites simply have to wait their turn to be attended to.
However – once your search engine optimization takes effect, and you start getting visitors from the search engines, you will have a constant stream of FREE traffic coming in – for which you don’t need to do anything else. And that’s the beauty of search engine optimization.
